a re-release campaign

A conceptual re-release campaign for Memento (2000), including a redesigned movie poster, a press-book inspired fanzine and a series of promotional pieces.

The project explores how graphic design can extend a film’s narrative beyond the screen, translating its themes into a cohesive visual system.

02

the concept

The visual identity is built around the fragmented nature of memory and its role in shaping personal identity. Inspired by the protagonist’s inability to form new memories, the project uses visual disruption, repetition and fragmentation as core design principles.

The system reflects the film’s non-linear narrative through layered compositions, torn textures, handwritten annotations, scanned materials and imperfect graphic interventions.

Rather than illustrating scenes from the film, the project seeks to visually recreate the experience of inhabiting the protagonist’s mind.

a visual system inspired by a fractured mind.

03

poster design

The poster keeps the film’s central device: a single image you cannot fully trust, cut and re-assembled so the eye has to rebuild it.

pressbook fanzine

The fanzine works as the film’s evidence file: scanned materials, annotations and torn textures printed as spreads you have to piece together.
